In Oblivion the frame rates didn't increase enough to allow gameplay with AA turned ON. But at the resolution I recommended : 1600 X 1200 with NO AA, we gain 5 average FPS for a total of 22FPS. That is an incredible 29% increase in frame rates, which will help to reduce the hiccups in the game at this resolution.
Below I also included 2 synthetic benchmarks: 3D Mark05 & 3D Mark06. I added the stock speed performance and also the overclock performance. The card scales well in the synthetic benchmarks when overclocked, but we actually see more true percentages in the real games. We get an increase of 10% in 3D Mark05 and an increase of 9% in 3D Mark06.
Conclusion
I am very pleased with the performance of the Sapphire X1900GT card. It allows game play at high resolutions and with enough of the eye candy turned ON. And it overclocks extremely well, we saw a 20% average increase in FPS within our game tests, which is just amazing. I will enjoy this card and will only replace it when the need for DX10 is required.
